Azores Airlines Carry-On Baggage

Your cabin luggage has limitations. Whether you're travelling in Business or Economy Class, Azores Airlines carry-on policy restricts passengers to the following weight and size limits of the items they are bringing on board. Please note that the following information applies to routes to and from North America only.

In addition to the above item, every Azores Airlines passenger in any class of service is permitted the following, free of charge:

• A coat, blanket, umbrella or walking stick
• A laptop, camera and/or binoculars
• A purse, handbag or briefcase
• A portable basket, food and clothing (for those travelling with an infant)
• Crutches and/or prosthetic devices (passengers with reduced mobility)
• A registered* service dog (for deaf and/or blind passengers)

*Service animals must be registered with the airline after your ticket is issued but before day of travel. Service animals are carried free of charge but don't occupy a seat. Speak to your travel agent for details.

Azores Airlines Checked Baggage

Prepare for your Azores Airlines flight with peace of mind knowing your free checked baggage allowance. Check your class of service and fare type (if booked in Economy Class) to find out how much you can carry and how much your bags should weigh.

Economy Class

Infants on lap (not occupying a seat) are allowed 1 checked bag with a maximum weight of 10kg/22lbs

Executive (Business) Class

Overweight Baggage

With a few exceptions, the maximum weight for any checked bag is 32kg/70lbs, subject to an Excess Baggage Fee if you've exceeded your free baggage allowance based on the fare purchased.

Exceptions to the above rule include live animals in cargo, musical instruments and sports equipment, where the maximum allowable weight is 45kg. If your item weighs more than 45kg, it will need to be shipped separately as cargo.

If you are travelling with any items weighing more than 23kg, please visit an Azores Airlines airport representative for a 'Heavy Baggage' tag, available at any Azores Airlines check-in counter.

Excess Baggage

If you are planning on travelling with more items than included in your free baggage allowance, excess baggage fees will be charged by the airline. All above pricing is for one way travel (per direction). Payment is collected in CAD when departing Canada and EUR when departing Europe/Azores Islands.

Travelling with Infants and Children

If you are travelling with infants and/or children (up to 11 years old), Azores Airlines allows the carriage of a baby stroller, basket, baby chair and car seat, free of charge.

Sporting Equipment

If you are travelling with sports equipment, please have your travel agent advise the airline after your reservation has been made.
