Azores Flights

Based in Ponta Delgada, in the Azores, Portugal, SATA International operates scheduled and charter flights to the Madeira Islands, mainland Portugal as well as the islands of the Azores from both North America and Europe. Seating

SATA International trans-Atlantic service is handled by Airbus A310 and A320 aircraft featuring cabins with two classes of service, Classic (economy) and Executive (business).

Classic Class seating offers guests almost 12 inches of space between rows for a roomy economy class experience.

Executive Class features SATA''s PLUS Advantages including priority service, check-in and baggage handling, free parking, a higher free baggage allowance with extra carry-on as well as lounge access, a more spacious seat with either 18.5 inches (A310) or 13 inches (A320) of pitch , amenity kit, blanket and pillow as well as exclusive meals and wines on board.


In-flight Options

Attentive service and attention to detail set SATA''s in-flight service apart; enjoy the Azorean Spirit in-flight magazine or the complimentary audio and video entertainment, taste the locally inspired menu and sample the accompanying wines or simply sit back and have a restful trip while children are given colouring books and pencils to keep occupied.


Entertainment

Complimentary audio and video in-flight entertainment is available in both classes of service with Executive Class guests accessing theirs via personal, on-demand screens. Available on all flights are complimentary world newspapers and in-flight magazine and colouring books with pencils for young fliers.


Meals

Flights departing Portugal feature an Executive Class tailored menu by world-renowned chef Chakall. Inspired by local flavours, in-flight dishes use typical ingredients used in the Azores and Madeira Islands and are accompanied by a carefully selected local wine list. All meals and beverages are complimentary in all classes of service. Kids and dietary meals can be requested in advance.


Checking-in

SATA International offers options to check-in for your flight. Available within 48 hours prior to your departure date, check-in online from any device and select a seat and print your own boarding pass. If you prefer to check-in at the airport, use a kiosk or an agent and check-in up to an hour before departure on your day of travel.


Checked Baggage

Booking classes determine the number of checked bags one can carry in economy class; Smart fare classes allow 1 checked piece not exceeding 23kg (50lbs) while Value fare class travellers are allowed two of the same weight. Executive Class guest may check-in 2 bags with each not exceeding 32kg (70lbs) in weight. Infants (under 2 years of age) have a free checked baggage allowance of 1 piece in both the Value and Smart booking classes.


Carry-on Baggage

For trans-Atlantic flights, SATA allows all Economy Class guests one piece of carry-on, not to exceed 8kg (18lbs) and must fit in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you. Executive Class guests are allowed an additional piece, with their combined weight not exceeding 20kg or 44lbs. Small pets may travel in-cabin providing they are under 8kg in weight and in the proper container – check with the airline directly for details.


Alliances, Clubs and Lounges

SATA International''s frequent flyer program, SATA IMAGINE, allows travellers to both accumulate and redeem miles and higher tier members get access to lounges worldwide. Those travelling in Executive Class may also use worldwide airline lounges, where available.
