1. Adventure outdoors in the Grand Canyon

Vast and iconic, the Grand Canyon is a must-see landmark in Arizona. From the North and South Rim to the canyon floor there are so many picturesque vistas to take in. Guided hiking tours, Colorado River rafting tours and air tours are some of the options to take in the natural wonder. Summertime (June–August) is the busiest time to travel to the Grand Canyon, but for cooler weather and less crowds shoulder seasons (March–May and September–November) are also amazing to catch epic views.

For the traveller seeking an active adventure, there are many trailheads with steep switchbacks that take visitors into the canyon and offer rim-to-rim hikes and multi-day backpacking expeditions. For easier stays for the whole family, the Grand Canyon West offers shorter visits and a Skywalk that will take visitors out over the rim on a glass bridge that hovers over 1,200m above the canyon floor. Another option is to explore the canyon by rail on the Grand Canyon Railway, which offers trips from Williams to the South Rim year-round.
