These hotels in Vietnam have something for every member of your family to enjoy, including kids' clubs, splash pools, spas and more!

Asia probably isn’t the first place that comes to mind when you think of family vacations — us Canadians tend to favour places like Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic — but it should be!

Take Vietnam, for example. Rich in cultural experiences, flavourful cuisine and stunning beaches, it’s a great spot to enjoy a sunny getaway with the family. Not only that, but it’s full of hotels that offer babysitting services, kids’ clubs and other amenities to keep the little ones (and the young at heart) entertained.

Keep on scrolling to discover the best family-friendly resorts in Vietnam.

Anantara Hoi An Resort

If your crew likes to balance adventure time with downtime, the Anantara is where you want to be. Situated on the banks of the Thu Bon River, this family resort is less than a kilometre from Hoi An’s incredibly well-preserved Old Town (aka Ancient Town) area.

This makes it easy for you to explore temples, visit traditional teahouses and discover Vietnam’s rich history; the Anantara can even help arrange cycling tours and basket boat excursions. Or feel free to kick back and relax at the resort. In addition to a fantastic kids’ club, it boasts a temperature-controlled pool with a shallow toddler wading area.

JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa

The JW Mariott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa isn’t just one of the best family resorts in Vietnam — it’s one of the most beautiful family resorts in Vietnam. The hotel also has a very cool (albeit fake) history.

Famed architect Bill Bensley imagined the property as the fictional Lamarck University, and then designed each and every space and experience to reflect the building’s former use. The lobby, for instance, resembles a library. But don’t worry! Vacationing on this 9-hectare “campus” is nothing like school. With a wide range of rooms, suites and private villas, spectacular on-site restaurants and daily activities, you’ll feel like you’re on the ultimate summer break.

Silk Path Hotel Hanoi

Silk Path Hotel Hanoi is one of the best hotels in Vietnam for adventurous families — especially those that like to be in the heart of a destination. Located smack dab in the middle of Hanoi (Vietnam’s capital), you’ll have easy access to markets, street food stalls, temples, museums and more. The famous Hanoi Train Street is less than a five-minute walk away, too!

Despite being in the city’s bustling Old Quarter, it is possible to relax here as well. In addition to your comfortable, tastefully decorated room, the hotel has a Jacuzzi and Reading Lounge for you to recharge in after a busy day of sightseeing and exploring.

Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula

Nature loving families, take note! The Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula resort, surrounded by beach and rainforest, immerses you in Vietnam’s incredible beauty. Nestled on the Son Tra Peninsula, you’ll feel secluded from everything — but in fact, you’re only 40 minutes from Da Nang and 60 minutes from Hoi An.

Even so, it will be hard to leave the property. It’s known as one of the most spectacular family hotels in the area for a reason! At the time of writing, Vietnamese cooking classes, movie screenings, fishing excursions and swimming lessons were all on the activities schedule.

Intercontinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort

Apparently in Vietnam, “family-friendly resorts” is synonymous with “Intercontinental”. If you haven’t already guessed, the Intercontinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort is a sister to the hotel mentioned above.

While it’s located in a different part of the country, it has similar amenities and activities — as well as the outstanding HARNN Heritage Spa. After enjoying some quality family time together, be sure to take advantage of the Planet Trekkers Kids’ Club (for children aged 4–12) so that you can indulge in a massage or facial. With an indoor slide and ball pit, crafts and treasure hunts, the kids will hardly notice you’re gone.

The Anam Cam Ranh

The Anam Cam Ranh resort has not one, not two but three freshwater swimming pools — plus it’s situated just minutes from Cam Ranh Airport on Bai Dai Beach. In other words, this is one of the best family hotels for travellers who are going to Vietnam for a sunny getaway.

From water sports, kite flying and spa treatments to mini golf and tennis, there’s something for everyone to enjoy here. The Anam also has its own organic farm that supplies fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs to each of its restaurants. Refueling after a busy vacation day with the family has never tasted so good.

Regent Phu Quoc

Planning a multi-generational family vacation? The Regent Phu Quoc has some stunning accommodation options for you to choose from, including three-, four- and seven-bedroom villas. With separate living areas, private swimming pools and spa-like bathrooms, there’s ample space for the whole family to come together — or get a much-needed break from each other (no judgement here!).

While the resort’s numerous amenities primarily cater to a more mature crowd, the Regent Kids club has been exceptionally designed with little ones in mind. This colourful indoor space features a playground and a mini theatre, and gives your children a ton of fun ways to play, learn and grow. Think cooking classes, hat making workshops and more.

Danang Marriott Resort & Spa

Our list of the best family resorts in Vietnam would be incomplete without the Danang Mariott Resort & Spa.

It’s surrounded by nature as well as some of the country’s top cities and attractions, so get out and explore as much as possible! Non Nuoc Beach and the Marble Mountains are essentially at your doorstep, and Hoi An and Da Nang are each less than 20km away. That said, you’d be remiss not to venture a little farther out… say, to Ba Na Hills. Home to a Sun World amusement park, the Instagram-worthy Golden Bridge and spiritual sites, it will fascinate older and younger children — and parents!

Alma Resort Cam Ranh

Your family will absolutely love this beachfront resort. Tucked away on Vietnam’s south coast, it features a Splash Water Park — complete with a wave pool, lazy river and exhilarating slides — an 18-hole mini golf course, a video and arcade game-packed Youth Club, a supervised Kids’ Club, a Science Museum and so much more. There’s no way your kids or teens could possibly utter the words, “I’m bored” while staying here!

Nor will they be able to fuss over the food options. The Alma has nine delicious restaurants on site, including a food court and beach bar, that serve everything from pho, banh mi and noodle dishes to chicken strips and pizza.

Park Hyatt Saigon

Unlike the other resorts mentioned in this blog, Park Hyatt Saigon isn’t really suitable for a beach vacation, but we wanted to include it here anyway — and that’s because it’s a great option if you feel like staying in Ho Chi Minh City.

Situated in Lam Son Square, it’s within walking distance of many of the city’s most popular attractions. This includes cultural buildings like the Central Post Office, Notre-Dame Cathedral and Opera House; shopping centres such as the Diamond Plaza; and the kid-approved Saigon Zoo and Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theatre.

Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An

Planning a luxurious family vacation? Look no further than the Four Seasons’ Nam Hai resort. Everything here has been designed with the utmost quality and care: its villas feature indoor and outdoor rain showers, down duvets and pillows, and Bose sound systems; its restaurants serve dishes made with garden-fresh ingredients; its three infinity pools offer breathtaking beach views; and its sightseeing tours immerse you in the culture of Vietnam.

Sure… younger guests may not care about those things, but they’re bound to love the Chuon Chuon Kids Club, Junior Cooking Academy and other children’s amenities, including table tennis and pool tables, badminton courts, games, books, water sports and more.
