Looking for a vacation where you can relax in the sun, enjoy fine dining, AND party like a rockstar? Our Travel Expert Cassie Haydon recently had the chance to spend a few days at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya on her vacation to Mexico and cannot stop talking about it. Roughly an hour drive from Cancun airport, this all-inclusive resort is a must-experience for anyone looking for the perfect mix of fun and sun. Cassie shares her top 5 must-do's and why you need to get yourself there pronto!

1. Relax on the Beach

This might seem like a no brainer, enjoy the beach, duh… however it really is a treat at the Hard Rock. Whilst the rest of the Mayan Riviera is plagued by seaweed problems, the beach at the Hard Rock is protected by a reef so it is nothing but clear and calm waters to enjoy!

2. Party The Night Away At Club Heaven

This club is located in the adults-only section of the resort, and it is stunning! It has a really funky and modern vibe with a pool as the centre piece to the room! Throw in some tunes from the house DJ, (DJ Huggies) and this club is the perfect place to party the night away!

3. Experience Breakfast on your Terrace or Balcony

Treat yourself to breakfast on your balcony or terrace; room service is included in your stay and the Hard Rock staff are happy to set up a breakfast in your room for you. I stayed in a Terrace Suite room which has a private rooftop terrace and it was such a treat to be able to take in the views and enjoy a delicious breakfast in my own private space.

4. Enjoy A Meal at Los Gallos Latin American Restaurant

Something I always do on vacation is try the local food; it's a great way to immerse yourself in the culture. I had a delicious meal at Los Gallos, and I recommended expanding your horizons and trying something other than the standard Mexican cuisine such as quesadillas. I opted for the Mixiote de Cordero de los Altos de Jalisco, a traditional steamed lamb dish served with black beans and rice.

5. Be Pampered

Take the time to enjoy a treatment at the Rock Spa; this is one of the largest spas in the Caribbean with an extensive menu to recharge and revitalise you.

All in all, the Hard Rock Riviera Maya is a great resort with a fun and lively vibe. Between the adults only Heaven side of the resort and the Hacienda family-friendly side of the resort, there is really something for everyone to enjoy!
