If you can handle the heat, the summer months from December to February are ideal for swimming, snorkelling and laying by the beach. If you prefer things a little less sweaty, consider spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May). Winter might be a little chilly for swimming, but there’s plenty of other things to see and do on Rottnest Island, including snap selfies with the resident quokkas.

Go for a bike ride, snap a selfie with some of the resident quokkas, swim, snorkel, explore, tee off at the golf course, do a little stargazing, catch a flick, eat prawns and watch the sun set, go fishing, head to one of the island’s lookouts, or do absolutely nothing at all.
