What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is essentially a digital version of the tiny physical chip or SIM card used in mobile devices to connect to carrier networks. The ‘e’ stands for ‘embedded’, meaning your eSIM can be activated online. Once sorted, you can access multiple data networks across the globe without having to sign a new contract or physically change your existing SIM will you travel.

What will my phone number be?

Do I need to configure the data settings?

Install instructions will vary between mobile devices, however you can generally choose between using your eSIM or your regular SIM card in your phone settings. Just make sure ‘Data Roaming’ has been turned on for your travel eSIM once you’re ready to use it.

How do I recharge/add credit/top up?

You can easily top up and add more data to you eSIM online or via the app.

Are eSIMS safe?

In general, eSIMs are considered more secure than regular SIM cards as they can’t physically be removed or tampered with. With this in mind, eSIMs carry a similar risk to physical SIM cards in terms of hacking, tracking or phishing attacks. We recommend using common sense, steer clear of dodgy links and avoid sharing sensitive information online.
