American Airlines, though not the flag carrier of the USA, is one of the world’s largest airlines, with scheduled flights across the USA, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, South America, and Asia/Pacific. It is a member of the One World Alliance.

Cabin Classes

Economy

Economy Class cabins contain seats with a pitch of 30 to 32 inches depending on the aircraft, as well as adjustable leather headrests and in-seat power supply (selected seats). The in-flight menu includes a choice of main course and a range of beverages. For entrainment Economy Class has overhead screens showing a variety of current movies and programs. Flights between Shanghai and Chicago on Boeing 777 aircraft have seat-back screens with 10 channels.

Business

Business Class cabins contain seats with a pitch of 57 to 60 inches depending on the aircraft, as well as adjustable leather headrests, in-seat power supply, lumbar support, in-seat telephones, and seat-back screens. Passengers are provided amenity kits containing socks, eye masks, tooth brush kits, ear plugs, pens, mints, tissues and natural cosmetic products by Burt''s Bees. The in-flight menu includes appetizers, a choice of 4 entrees, salads, a choice of main course, desert and a Quick Cuisine service. Business Class on the 777 fleet has personal entertainment systems featuring a range of movies, TV shows, music and games.

First

Boeing 777 First Class cabins contain Flagship Suites with full flat swivel beds that are 6 feet 6 inches long. The flat beds include electronic recline, electronic adjustable lumbar, in-seat power supply, storage and 10.6 inch touch screens. Passengers are provided duvets and SpAA In Flight amenity kits containing Temple Spa products. The in-flight menu includes appetizers, a choice of 4 entrees, salads, a choice of main course, desert and a Quick Cuisine service. First Class entertainment features an in-seat video system with 10 channels and a video library of up to 20 movies.

Baggage

Economy Class passengers are allowed 1 piece of 18kg hand luggage, 2 pieces of 23kg (each) checked baggage when travelling to Brazil and 2 pieces of 23kg (each) checked baggage for all other destinations. Some baggage fees may apply depending on the destination. Business Class passengers are allowed 1 piece of 18kg hand luggage and 3 pieces of 23kg (each) checked baggage. Check-in Options

American Airlines offers web check-in from 24 hours to 2 hours before departure. If checking-in at the airport, it closes 1 hour to 40 minutes before departure time, depending on the destination. Please refer to the airline for more information regarding check-in times.

Rewards Program

The AAdvantage rewards program allows members to earn points when they fly with American Airlines, airline partners, or use the services of their affiliated partners. Accumulated points can be used towards flights, upgrades, holiday packages, accommodation, car rentals and other retail products.

Lounges

American Airlines has over 35 Admiral Club Lounges located within America and around the world. Lounges offer free wireless internet access, cyber caf�s, music rooms, business centres and a range of complimentary beverages. Domestic lounges have specialty sandwiches, salads and small bite samplers available to purchase. Admiral Club members have access to lounges. Day passes to the lounge can also be purchased.
